SPIRIT, COME, FILL ME…
Spirit come, fill me today,
be in each thought, and word I say,
come, wash me clean from taint of sin,
which troubles still, deep within.
Spirit come and quench my thirst,
teach me how to put you first,
fill my fickle heart each day,
clear my mind, show me your way.
Overflow from me to those around,
help them find what I have found,
never leave me, dearest friend,
make me a blessing til life’s end.

Fountain, river, stream, spring,

Take living water to your lip.
Refresh, hydrate, quench, restore,
There’s plenty here if you want more.
Believe, trust, faith, thank,
Transform into a water tank.

Candyfloss pleasures
Sweet on the tongue
Then gone
Leaving
A thirst
For something
That satisfies.
A search
For meaning
For satisfaction
Fulfilment
For joy
For peace
But where?
A search
Passing by
Ignoring
Jesus
Giver
Of thirst-quenching
Water.
Passes by
The spring
Of pure water
And drinks death
From brackish pools
That cannot
Satisfy.
O Jesus
Flow
Through me
To others
That they too
/May find life
Eternal
In You.
